The loss of 6 lives in the 1998 Sydney to Hobart race affected my crew and I deeply. What took place in Bass Strait on the afternoon and night of the 27th December and onwards has left an indelible imprint on our minds. Being there and experiencing the conditions in which these men fought to survive, and being fortunate enough to have lived to enable me to be here now pursuing this challenge is something I will be forever grateful for. I have therefore decided on behalf of the 7 men that were with me in Bass Strait - Bob Snape, Glen Picasso, Keir Enderby, Keith Molloy, Tony Purkiss, Dave Marshall and Dave Cook - to dedicate
Solo Globe Challenger's rounding of Cape Horn to the memory of the six men who gave up their lives and to their family and friends who have been affected in so many ways. Gentlemen, rest easy.

Take care,

Tony Mowbray
